Absentee Voting Information

For information regarding absentee voting the Peaine Township Clerk can be reached via email (, or by phone at 231-448-3540 or 231-510-1091 (be sure to leave a message if calling either number). The Clerk's office hours at the Peaine Township Hall are Tuesdays from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Other than during office hours, the Clerk or Deputy Clerk can be found at the station weekdays from roughly 11:00am until 6:00pm. Blank absentee ballot applications can be picked up at the hall during office hours, or at the station. Blank applications can be mailed upon request. They can also be found online at
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is 2:00pm on May 5th. A person may vote an absentee ballot in person in the Clerk's office until 4:00pm on May 7th. The deadline for emergency absentee voting is 4:00pm on May 8th. Absentee ballots can be returned up until the close of polls on election day (May 8th).
